A boy and his Cheetah

Have you ever seen the African movie "Duma".  A typical Disney movie, nice to watch with smaller kids.
Anyway this was painted for a boy, it took me longer than suspected because I've never tried to paint a Cheetah before.
It was painted with Acryl on Canvas 30x30cm 3D

Trying my hand at something new

I've been wanting to do this for a while now.... 

So when my husband took the kids and the dog for a walk while I was recovering from 3 days of migraine, I dove into my creativity. 

The best prescription to lift one's spirits. 

I used a lot of paint, gesso, gold, glitter and ink 

from the Ranger range and ta-dah:

Flowers may fade

but

fragrant memory lingers

She's painted in a COMPLETELY different style so I'm quite chuffed with myself!

Starting out on my journey of mixed media

One of my best friends celebrated another birthday of hers and I wanted to make her something special. I started out on my first job in The Netherlands and prayed for a colleague friend not knowing how to find one and where to start. The Lord very soon after connected me with a German colleague that started the same month as me and she turned out to be a christian, spoke fluent English, also married a Dutch guy like me and will be a friend for life.

I've used podge, pearl liner, Acrylic with and without glitter and words from a calender I've bought in South Africa on a visit to my parents a couple of years ago. I is painted on a canvas board.

The heart is very special (like in all relationships), I found it between my memoires and it was drawn by my 8 year old when she was age 4 or 5.

Winter Fun

It was time to make some new paintings for school, Christmas was gone and I had to paint again something with a winter theme. I painted on the two glass panels at the main entrance a little stove, red hot, with a bit of smoke and a sleeping cat on a pillow on the other panel.

Then due to a lack of time a sick kids I painted on both sides of an A3 poster so that I can just tape it to the glass panels of another door.

I painted a red robin as I just love their attitude, very very inquisitive and cocky.

I painted the body of the robin with gold and copper which created a beautiful effect

And I painted a penguin on the other side:

The falling snow was done with a natural spunge

This penguin must be a Jackass penguin from South Africa as all the others live in the Antarctic and are used to cold weather.

Little bag

Another b-day gift and I started the sewing part and hour before the party started....
of course I could have had this done 2 weeks ago...

but there is propably no kick just like working towards a deadline lol

I'm also way behind on other gifts so I really have to pull up my socks and start sewing away.

My cold is almost gone, baby has her 2 teeth(!), the most of the ceiling work is done (dh) so I hope I can get back into the creative mood and just start.

No shortage of idea or statsh anyway lol

I was in such a hurry making this that drew nothing but just started cutting and sewing away. I couldn't find my magic pen anyway....

I've added in the bag a little box to make a pudding from Lillifee.

Lillifee is from Germany and my youngest dd just adores her. Her mother too lol!

40x40cm of warmth

40x40x3cm Acryl paintings for a "new baby" order. I really enjoyed painting these larger paintings and they make quite an impression ;-) My photo's (again) doesn't distorts a bit with uploading so you're not able to see the glitter and the added gold and silver 3D liners used for a beautiful finishing touch.

Ok I've been fooling around with flickr

mushrooms,hedgehogs,berries and leaves

The girls and I made hedgehogs, leaves and mushrooms with DAS clay. These are my creations, theirs are at theirs school as a part of a Autumn table.

It was really fun to make and to paint with Acryl paint.

I took the photo in our garden an for additional colour I added some picked berries(they're real!).

Today I saw the most awesome gathering of mushrooms.

I was on my way with my dd of 6 who fell in gym class on her mouth...

one broken tooth, one milk tooth the dentist had to remove and 2 huge cuts in her lip. From 5 places blood came and I can just say it looked like a slaughter.

She's ok now but it will take some days to heal and she's eating difficult at the moment and can't pronounce the letter "p". Next week she'll go again to the dentist to fix her broken tooth.

Anyway I was on my way from the dentist to the doctor with her and we took a short cut. Oh my! we saw these huge red mushrooms with white spots. The bigges I've ever seen. Oh so beautiful!

I just know them as "the red mushrooms with the white spots"

but this afternoon my 5 year old came home and told me she knew their name: "vliegenzwam" in Dutch

anyway if I translate it direct it is fly fungi I think. Well so now I have to go and surf and see what it is called in English. Oh I see in English it is called fly mushroom. So now we know that too and the name coms aparantly because it is used for killing flies.

It takes two crows

I got a swap order for two crows from YeOldeCrowShoppe for two crow paintings. I ordered the handmade crafts in my previous entry and in return got and order for the paintings. Each add shipping to the total price and then maybe there is no need for money transfers. This is what I call and order swap. Love it. This time I had to pay the difference. This would be a nice idea to do more often, stimulate each other and doing a swap order so no or less money transfers.

The crow above is based on the common carrion crow in Europe and the crow below is based on the pied crow (white breasted crow-free translation for South African name) we have in South Africa.

I can only show my complete projects after they are received by their buyers otherwise I would steal their supprise moment. So they see it first and then I share it with you. These paintings are 20x20cm painted on 3D canvas and painted with acryl paint. I've added finishing touches with gold,silver and glitter and sprayed it with a fixative for protection. These crows are my first and after I've drawn it I asked my 5 year old what it was. Her reply was: crows. So they passed the test as recognisable as the colours are of course my creative expression. Fun to paint and received well:"I can't stop looking at the crow paintings. lol They SO make me smile. :-)"

I don't know but it wasn't intentionally.

This was painted with acryl on a 24x30cm canvas and finished with a gold liner.

By the way I've used gold paint on the clouds too.

They were not ready for me

On Saturday I went to the "Creamarkt" (creativity market) with my painted creations.

I worked quite hard and my husband even though he was dead tired on Friday night made holes and wire curls for my two country-hanging-things.

I was satisfied with my arrangement and Chanah was excited to help me the whole day.

But... I think my colours were to bright for the people with the money in their pockets. Oh and I think that all the young people were sleeping late (until 16:00) as the visitors were all 60+ I guess. Anyway they have no clue that their grandchildren and great grandchildren like funky colours ;-)

I did sell one item....

The little lamb that hubby helped me with the previous night. I then said to him leave it as I have enough to sell....luckily he did make it otherwise...

On the photo you're not able to see the nice wire curls my husband made for it to hang from. The little card slides under the lamb's chin, so it is possible to take it out. The funny thing is that they lady who bought the lamb thought that the words written on it was Fresian... but it was South African and I did tell her that ;-)

Then my friend came just before closing time for moral support and bought a painting and a table cloth! Now that is a true friend lol! When I came home my husband had cleaned the house for me and supprised me with a beautiful mixed bunch of pastell coloured Lisianthus (eustoma is the botanical name) flowers and a beautiful card with encouraging words. I just had to cry.

Well anyway now I have a lot of items for my Internet shop.

I am glad I did it and had nice chats and met a neighbour down the street who are an artist and I'll invite her for a visit ;-)

Production: producing products

I've been busy and I'll be busy this week:

Saturday will be my first participation in an Art market so I'll have to make sure the people won't come in vain ;-)

I've drawn 7 black and white pieces and are now painting them with acryl paint. They're a bit different than what I'm usually doing but a lot of fun and no effort as the idea have been in me for quite a while now.

Finished just in time!

I've received an order for 2 paintings from my webshop while on holiday.

The one was a delivery from stock the other a request to paint the cow and sheep for the buyer's son, his room has the colours yellow and purple in it.

I've managed to get it on the post today, really hope she will be impressed with the bundle of sunlight ;-)

It is 30x30cm as requested and I've added gold and silver for the finer touches.

I've painted it with acryl paint and the sheep have some added texture like they should have, lol!
